DIY Sugar Scrub: Easy Personal Care Idea! It happens to all of us: We forget to get someone a present!
Maybe you missed it entirely, or maybe you have an unexpected guest from out of town and want them to feel extra special this holiday season. This recipe is an easy gift that you can make in less than 10 minutes with ingredients you already have in your own kitchen!
So grab a few of those ingredients and get ready to whip something up.
What you'll need:
Small canning jar
3/4 cup brown or white sugar
1/2 cup virgin coconut oil
3 drops peppermint oil
One spoon of lemon juice
One tablespoon aloe vera
One tablespoon of honey.
How to make it:
In a small bowl, combine sugar and coconut oil and stir until ingredients are well mixed. Then add peppermint oil, lemon juice, aloe vera, and one tablespoon of honey and mix well.
You may be wondering...why these essential oils in particular? Good question!
I like to make any sugar scrub with coconut oil and aloe vera because coconut oil and aloe vera are invigorating. They can create a tingly feeling in the skin and stimulate circulation naturally. I like to use coconut oil and aloe vera in an exfoliating scrub, especially when I use it to plump up my lips or scrub away dry skin on my face. But it's also fantastic for my legs when I am worried about flaky skin.
Peppermint oil is known to be calming and relaxing to the mind. Peppermint oil naturally relaxes the mind and signals to the brain that everything is going to be okay! Because of its powerful and effective chemical properties, lavender is one of the most popular essential oils around and is often used in bath products!
Honey is so good because it contains antioxidants that can protect you from inflammation. Adding a spoonful of honey to your drink can detoxify your body and cleanse your gut by removing toxins, boosting your energy, and improving your body's immune system. Honey can also be used as a medicine to cure colds and digestive problems and heal the wound on the affected area.
These 3 together make a well-rounded blend: relaxing, invigorating, and fruity.
If you do not have essential oils yet, use coffee grounds and a pinch of cinnamon to add an invigorating touch to your sugar scrub and gift this DIY sugar scrub to your friend.
